1. persuade vt.劝服，说服
1)He persuaded me to buy the house and now I’m very glad he did.
= He persuaded/ talked me into buying the house and now I’m very glad he did.
他说服我买下了这房子，我现在很高兴他这么做。
2) I advised/ tried to persuade him to have a good rest, but he didn’t listen to me.
我劝他好好休息一下，但他不听我的。
①通过以上两个例句体会persuade sb. to do sth.与advise/try to persuade sb. to do sth. 的区别：
persuade成功地说服某人干某事 advise/try to persuade 努力劝说某人干某事，其结果劝而未服。
②说服某人同意原来不同意的事用 get sb. around
Father doesn’t want to let us go, but I know I can get around him.
