一、教材分析
The emphasis of this period lies in the understanding of the cultural corner . And get the students to find out the meaning of the text, then give some explanations about them , a nd offer practices to make students master the important words of usage. In order to arouse students’ interest , the teacher can hold a competition.

1.知识目标
Get the students to learn and grasp the following important useful new words and expressions in the part:
lecture，astonished，used to do，be supposed to do. .science facilities, make discoveries in.
2能力目标
1) Improve the Ss’ ability in reading.
