We usuallyassociate ancient Greek civilisation, which dates back to about 3000 BC, with the faraway prosperous capital city, Athens, the symbol of which is the Acropolis. The Acropolis is one of the grandest and most precious historic sites in the world and is highly acclaimed by people.
However, throughout history, the architecture hasn’t avoided damage. To preservethe historic site, the Greek government appointed a committee to take on the restoration work with the ambition to reproduce its timeless glory. The job seemed uncomplicated, but actually it was the complete opposite. Nonetheless, people never back down and have been working hard to protect their treasure.
