Dec. 15, 2012: In the state of Connecticut, Adam Lanza, the 20yearold who killed 20 kids and six adults at a Connecticut elementary school Friday, shot his mother Nancy in the face at the home they shared in Newtown, and then drove to Sandy Hook Elementary School. The schoolchildren he shot and killed were between the ages of 5 and 10. The shooting stopped when Lanza put a bullet in his own head.
April 2, 2012: In the state of California, a man killed seven people and wounded three others at Oikos University, a Christian school in Oakland. Police identified the suspect as One L. Goh, 43, a Korean, who submitted to the police at a Safeway supermarket in Alameda, Calif. The university claimed (声称) the shooter was a former nursing student.
Feb. 14, 2008: In the state of Illinois, a gunman broke into Northern Illinois University and opened fire aimlessly at more than 160 students and teachers, killing six people and wounding more than 10 others before shooting himself dead. Police say the gunman was Steven Kazmierczak, 27, a former graduate student in Sociology at the school.
March 21, 2005: In the state of Minnesota, a 16yearold student Jeff Weise shot dead five students, a security guard and a teacher at Red Lake High School before killing himself during a shootout with police. Weise had killed his grandfather and his grandfather's companion before heading to school that day.
