Ways to Keep Fit Outside the Gym

Here are some low­cost ideas to keep fit outside the gym.

1Stairs Running or walking up and down the stairs in your house or apartment building can be a great high­intensity cardio (高强度的心脏强化训练) and leg workout. One choice for beginners is to add walking intervals(间歇) every few floors.

2Mall Walking When walking outdoors is not a good idea, do laps (绕圈) inside your local shopping mall. For the average person, a quick one­hour walk can burn 300 to 400 calories.

3Home Workouts A workout DVD or even a quick online search to find indoor aerobic routines(有氧动作) can pay off when you have limited space. If you have weights, a skipping rope, a stability ball, or other equipment, you can combine those into a great full body workout.

4Active TV Viewing Dont want to miss your favourite TV show? Try jogging or skipping on the spot while you watch. Do squats or push­ups during the commercial breaks.
