 A

(2020·黄冈市质量检测)One of the things that makes your smart phone so smart is that if you pull it out in the sunit senses that and adjusts the screen brightness to compensate. But it's not a perfect solution.

“First of allit's still not bright enough — you have to remember how respectable sunlight is” said ShinTson Wua physicist at the University of Central Florida. The other problemhe says of the brightened screenis that it kills the battery. So Wu and his colleagues have produced a batterysparing alternative: an antireflective screen coatingbased on the eyes of moths.“Nature is so rich! We can learn a lot from nature.” The thing Wu and others have learned about moths' eyesis that they're unevendotted with tiny projections. That uneven surface reduces the reflection of light off their eyesthought to help the bugs escape predators(捕食动物)and see better in low light. So Wu and his team built a similar surface with tiny dimples (小凹)to cut down on glare. He says the coating could improve the readability of a screen by five to ten timescompared to a normal smart phone screen. The details are in the journal Optica.

The technology hasn't been commercialized yetand that could take a few yearswhich gives researchers time to take advantage of another property of these surfaces — they're flexiblemeaning the possibility of bendable displays.Combining that with the bendy batteries we reported on in a recent podcast (播客)the smart phones of the future could be set for a real transformation.

1Why do the researchers develop the antireflective screen coating?

ATo brighten the screen.

BTo make profits.

CTo use smart phones in the sunlight.

DTo save the use of battery.

根据第二段中的“The other problemhe says of the brightened screenis that it kills the battery. So Wu and his colleagues have produced a batterysparing alternativean antireflective screen coating”可知,研究人员研制抗反射手机屏涂层是为了减少手机电池的使用。]

2What inspired the invention of the screen coating?

AThe predators.

BThe reflection of light.

CThe eyes of moths.

DThe smooth surface.

根据第二段中的“an antireflective screen coatingbased on the eyes of moths”并结合该段其他内容可知,飞蛾的眼睛启发研究人员研制了防反射屏幕涂层。]

3How does the screen coating work?

AIt helps bugs escape.

BIt slows down reading.

CThe smooth surface protects our eyes.

DThe rough surface decreases the reflection of light.

根据第二段倒数第四句中的“That uneven surface reduces the reflection of light off their eyes”以及倒数第三句中的“So Wu and his team built a similar surface”可知,这种屏幕涂层通过其不平的表面来减少光的反射。]

4What do the researchers expect of the screen?

AIt'll transform itself.

BIt'll be environmentally friendly.

CIt'll reach consumers soon.

DIt'll be powered by recyclable batteries.

根据最后一段中的“they're flexiblemeaning the possibility of bendable displays”可知,研究人员期望这款屏幕能够变形。]
