  B

When I was a boy there were no smartphones. Computers were something you saw in Star Trek, and our television only got one clear channel. Still, I was never bored. The fields, hills, and woodlands around my home were the perfect playground where adventures were only limited by my imagination.

I can remember once hiking to a nearby lake and slowly walking around it. At the back of it I was amazed to find an old dirt road that I had never seen before. I immediately set out to travel along it. It was full of potholes (坑洼) and muddy tire tracks and deep woods bordered it on both sides, but exploring it still seemed like a fine adventure.

I walked on and on for what seemed like hours. I was sure my guardian angel was whispering in my ear to turn around and head back home but I was stubborn and even a bit stupid, so I walked on.

The dirt road gave way to a paved one. But there was still neither a car nor a house in sight. My legs were getting tired. I noticed that the sun was starting to go down. I didn't want to end up being trapped on this road in the dark of night, but I was sure it would be dark before I could make my way back to the lake again. I_got_cold_feet. My heart was pounding and my legs were trembling. But I continued to walk on. I was almost in tears when I turned one last curve and saw something in the distance. It was my house that I recognized. I walked in with a big smile on my face just in time for dinner. Then I ended my adventure with a good night's sleep.

From this experience, I realized that in life all roads, no matter what their twists and turns are, can lead us home again. They can lead us to our homes here on Earth. They can lead us to our homes in our hearts.

24What do we learn about the author in his childhood from Paragraph 1?

AHe often imagined playing freely.

BHe enjoyed playing computer games.

CHe was wild about adventures.

DHe had no access to technology.

根据第一段中的“The fieldshills, and woodlands around my home were the perfect playground where adventures were only limited by my imagination”可知,除了作者的想象力之外,没有什么能够限制作者的冒险,由此可知,作者热衷于冒险。故选C

【干扰项分析】 考生可能会根据第一段中的“The fields, hills, and woodlands around my home were the perfect playground where adventures were only limited by my imagination”,再结合A项中的“imagined playing”而不假思索地选择A项,但文中此句是指作者能想到的冒险,他都会去尝试,没有什么能够限制他的冒险,而A项指的是他经常想象自由玩耍,故可排除A项;文中并没有提到作者喜欢玩电脑游戏,故可排除B项;根据第一段中的“there were no smartphones. Computers were something you saw in Star Trek, and our television only got one clear channel”可知,在作者的童年时期并没有智能手机,电脑也很少见,而他们的电视也只有一个清晰的频道,由此可知,作者在童年时并未接触较多的科技产品,但并不能得出作者在童年时没有接触科技产品的机会这一结论,故可排除D项。

25What can we know about the dirt road?

AThere was no traffic on it.

BIt was a road across the forest.

Clt was the only way to the lake.

DHe had explored it for many times.

根据第二段中的“It was full of potholes(坑洼) and muddy tire tracks and deep woods bordered it on both sides”可知,这条土路的两旁都是森林,也就是说,这条土路穿过森林,故选B

根据第二段中的“It was full of potholes (坑洼) and muddy tire tracks”可知,这条土路上满是坑洼和轮胎压痕,由此推知,这条路上有车辆往来,故A项错误。

26What does the underlined sentence mean?

AThe author felt cold.

BThe author grew scared.

CThe author got excited.

DThe author was exhausted.

27What is the message want to convey in the passage?

ANo pain, no gain.

BEast, west, home is best.

CAll roads lead to home.

DNothing is impossible to a willing heart.

根据文章内容,尤其是最后一段中“in life all roads, no matter what their twists and turns are, can lead us home again. They can lead us to our homes here on Earth. They can lead us to our homes in our hearts”可知,最后一段升华了文章的主题,强调了所有的路都是回家的路,所有的路都能指引我们回家,故选C
