Myexperienceisbynomeansrare.ManyAmericansaretaughtbytheirparentsthattheonlypurposeinlifeistoattainmoneyandpower.Asagoal,thisseemsmucheasierandclearerthanfinding“happiness”or“gentleness”.Theresultofthisupbringingisthatmanyofmyclassmatesdidnotspecializeinanyparticularskill,ratherassumingthatsomethingwouldmagicallyhappentoovercometheirproblems.Theyoftengetarealshockwhentheyenterthe“realworld”andfindthattheiroptionsareverylimited.Manyofmyfriendshavetakenjobsaswaitersorcooksaftergraduating,orhavemovedbackinwiththeirparents.
Mylifeontheboatishardattimes,especiallyduringstorms.Butthisismysmallattempttobehappyonmyown.I‘mnotbuyingintomynation‘sideaoflimitlesspossibilitiesbecauseIfeelthatstopsthegrowthoftoday‘syouth.
