表示并列或递进关系的并列连词有and, not only ... but (also)．.., both ... and ..., neither ... nor等。
The train was comfortable and the people were nice.
火车很舒适，而且人们很友好。
He not only read the book, but also remembered what he had read.
他不但读了这本书，而且记得所读的内容。
(二)表示转折关系的并列连词
表示转折关系的并列连词有but, yet, whereas, while等。
The son was sleeping at home while the parents were working in the fields.
儿子在家睡觉而父母在田里劳作。
点津：but表示转折关系，不能和although/though连用。
