课堂设计指导思想：
在刚刚结束的北京奥运会中中国代表队取得了很好的成绩，这很大程度上让学生受到了鼓舞，所以用罗格在奥运会上的发言和奥运会的开幕式作为导入，很能吸引学生的兴趣。接着展开奥运知识抢答能让学生真正参与其中。课文相对来讲比较简单明了，通过快速阅读，细节阅读和深层次阅读并辅之以适当的练习，能很好的帮助学生理解课文并能根据适当的提示来进行课文复述，最后根据学生的认知，给他们进行话题讨论。课后的写作练习能帮助他们巩固课文的内容。

1. Arouse students’ interest in talking about Olympics.
2. Help students develop their reading ability.
3. Help students retell what they’ve got in t he reading.
