Period 4 Lear ning about Language
Teaching Goals:
1. To get Ss to know how to use new words and phrases.
2. To help Ss to master some new words and expressions.
3. To get Ss to have the extensive knowledge of the universe
Teaching Procedures:
Step 1. Consolidation
Purpos e: To consolidate the words and phrases in the text.
1. Ask Ss to work in groups and read the text again, and then finish Ex1 a nd Ex2 on P28 and check the answers in groups.
2. Ask Ss to keep the words they filled in Ex1 in heart.
3. Ask Ss t o f inish Ex3 and then let them check each other’s answers.
Step 2 Make summary
Ask stu dents to try to uses their own words to summariz e the text in less than 30 words. Each group show their answers.
Step 3 Extensive reading at class
To develop students abilities of fast reading, let Ss read a short passage about universe.
